More on this pregnancy thing ~~~
I’m pregnant! On Christmas Eve we received the best Christmas present ever - a positive pregnancy test. Although it was our desire, it was amazing to see the Lord adopt us as parental units during the celebration of the advent of His Son.
Here is the story:
Bryan & I had decided to pursue having a baby by going off of birth control and starting to explore adoption simultaneously. My first month without birth control was October and we went to an adoption expo on December 1st. On Christmas Eve we were visiting mom & dad at the lake house and I woke up while Bryan was still fast asleep. I had a hunch that I may be pregnant, so I went quietly to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test. After the eternal 3 minute wait, there was a faint second line showing up in the window. I quickly went and wrapped the pregnancy test in holiday wrapping paper and put it in my luggage before climbing back into bed with Bryan. I decided to wait to tell him later on in the afternoon when we were alone. I have NEVER had to keep a secret that big for so long – it was torture. Around lunchtime, we left the lake and headed for Winston Salem for Christmas Eve dinner with the Watts, but on the way we had planned to stop off in Old Salem to have a little bit of time for just the two of us between all the family time. When we parked, I told Bryan that I had one present to give him on Christmas Eve and pulled out my little “gift”. He didn’t even have to open it all the way before he realized what it was and I witnessed the first proud daddy grin.
