Bryan & I were sharing sweet stories of Camden with each other the other day and I realized how much I need to be writing these things down! And why not share it with Cam's friends/family at the same time?!
So Camden has always been a trooper at going to bed. He's never been the child that you have to soothe or rock to sleep - if he's left alone he will fall asleep on his own and he's been like that since birth. (Let's hope baby girl is this easy!)
However, Cam's bedtime ritual has changed over the past 17 months. Sometimes there is story reading, sometimes rocking and singing, and sometimes a few sweet moments of laying his head on my shoulder; but the latest "ritual" is pretty cute. We kiss mommy or daddy goodnight (whichever one of us is not putting him to bed), then he waves good-bye (with almost as much vigor as if we were the garbage truck he looks forward to waving to every Thursday morning) as he rounds the corner into his bedroom with a huge smile on his face. Then he points to the CD player, wanting us to turn it on. Then he points to the bed. We lay him on his back and he rubs his eyes, and then looks up, grins widely, and waves good-bye with both hands as we walk out of the room.
I miss the snuggling and story reading in this phase, but boy is it ever efficient!
